8/2/08

8/23/08 After a tough night at Path Valley we headed to Greenwood for 2 shows in one night winged & wingless 600. A good field of 32 cars were ready for a good racing night with a clear sunny sky. We started 3rd in the 1st  winged heat and Keith took 2nd on the initial start and stayed in 2nd to the end. After the redraw we started 4th in the feature. Keith ran 4th most of the race but on a late restart Shane Penny was able to pass us for 4th so we settled for a 5th place finish. Keith started 5th in the 2nd wingless heat and passed 2 cars for a 3rd place finish. The redraw put us on the pole for the feature. Keith lead for 15 laps and many restarts over Ryan Smith by about 4 car lengths. Unfortunately a lapped car ran into us on lap 15 causing Keith to loose momentum for a second and Ryan passed us for the lead. We had a couple more restarts but Ryan didn't make any mistakes so we had to settle for 2nd. Considering that this was the 1st wingless race for Keith I would say it still was a good night. We will be at Path Valley on friday.

8/10/08 After another real good night at Path Valley we went back to Shippensburg on a cool night with a field of 22 600's. We didn't draw real well and started 7th in the 3rd heat. Keith raced forward to 3rd which after the redraw put us starting 9th in the feature. Keith pushed steadily forward to 2nd at the 1/2 way mark. We had several shots at the leader but he was a little better. The race ended with us about 5 cars back in 2nd place still a good run. We will be back at Path Valley on friday.

8/3/08 After a good night at Path Valley we went back to Shippensburg and were pleased with the 28 car 600 field. Keith drew a lousy number putting us starting 7th in the 1st heat. Keith moved forward to finish 3rd in the heat. The redraw went our way putting us starting 3rd in the feature. On the initial start Keith moved into 2nd and pushed forward. At the 1/2 way Keith made an adjustment on the car and really looked fast. He passed the leader twice but the caution flag came out before they completed a lap. For the rest of the race Keith dogged the leader but every time he got under him the caution would come out. We ended after about 10 more cautions in 2nd. A really good end to a great weekend. We will be at Path Valley next weekend.

7/28/08 After a rough night at Path Valley we headed back to Shippensburg for the 1st time in a few weeks. Not a great car count (22) but as of late this seems to be the average. Keith drew well and we started on the pole in the 2nd heat. Keith won this easily by 10 car lengths and with the redraw lined up 4th in the feature. The track looked to be tightening up so I left the setup alone thinking the track would come to us. Well the track didn't tighten up as much as I thought and the car was a little loose. Keith drove as hard as he could and finished 3rd. A really goodfinish considering the setup. We will be back at Path Valley on friday night.

7/21/08 We had to go back to Greenwood after the way last week ended. We drew pretty good and started 3rd in the 2nd heat. Keith passed the 2nd place car on the initial start and cruised to a 2nd place finish and again drew well in the redraw to line up 5th in the feature. Keith ran 5th for most of the race until about 3 to go when the car started to go away and he finished 6th. When he came in the tires were completely worn out. We seem to have a car capable of running around 5th at Greenwood but still need to be a little better to contend for the win. We will be at Path Valley on friday night.

7/13/08 We decided to go to Greenwood on saturday because I had to work in the morning and were pleased with the 31 car 600 field. Keith drew a decent number and started 3rd in the 1st heat. Keith ran 3rd until 2 laps to go when the 4th place car turned us around. Keith restarted 10th and passed 3 cars to finish 7th. A little bit of a bummer because top 3 redraw for the feature and now we are in the consi. Keith won the the consi which put us starting 19th in the feature. On the 1st start Keith clipped a tire and spun so now we are starting 24th. Keith drove all the way up to 8th place with 3 to go missing a lot of wrecks and passing about 7 cars. Unfortunately the tires we had on the car were completely burned off and he spun out. He restarted 15th the last car left and passed 2 cars to finish 13th. The results don't show it but a really good run and probably the best we have had the car at Greenwood this year. We will be at Path Valley on friday night.

7/1/08 Well the 3rd time is the charm. We rolled into Path Valley again with rain threatening skies and 91 600's in the pits. We didn't draw real well so we started 6th in the 8th heat race. Keith raced forward on the 1st lap to 2nd and never looked back to transfer directly into the A main. This was after about a 3 hour rain delay. We drew better for the feature and lined up to start 11th in the feature at 1:00 in the morning. I misjudged the track and gave Keith a loose race car which he soldiered on to a 15th place finish. With 91 cars in the pits still a great night. We didn't get back to the hotel until 4:00 in the morning and with us in the C main at Trailways and only 2 going to the B main we decided to regroup and we will return to Greenwood on Wednesday.

6/28/08 Again the weather cooperated and after a little rain delay we were ready to race at Path Valley. Somehow luck was with us again and Keith started on the pole in the 3rd heat. Keith motored away to straightaway lead and took the checkered. With the redraw we lined up 2nd in the feature. On the initial start Keith took the lead and led through several restarts for the 1st 6 laps. On lap 6 Tom Kohler was a little better and he passed us for the lead. Keith tried to regain the lead on several starts but had to settle for 2nd. This is our best finish at Path Valley this year. Hopefully tomorrow when speedweek starts we can build off this night's finish.

6/24/08 We were happy to see the sun out at Path Valley with rain threatening the whole ride out there. Keith drew a good number which put us starting 2nd in the 1st heat. Keith battled with the 3rd place car the whole race. They traded 2nd place for the whole race with Keith finally getting the upperhand to finish 2nd. We started 5th in the feature and Keith ran in that position for 7 laps and several restarts. On the 8th lap Keith missed the rut he had been hitting every lap and lost the car. The car caught when he was sideways and flipped on its side ending our night. We will return next friday to try it again.

6/15/08 After a long rain delay on friday night at Path Valley we were happy to get to race. With 33 cars in the pits it looked to be a long night. We started 2nd in the 2nd heat and Keith took the lead on the 1st lap and pulled almost a 1/2 lap lead to win the heat. With the redraw we started 2nd in the feature and on the first 2 restarts stayed right with the leader. Unfortunately on the 3rd restart the 3rd place starter slid up the track and knocked us out of the cushion luckily Keith saved the car but was knocked back to 12th place. He steadily worked back towards the front for a 7th place finish. Kind of a bummer because I think we had a good car which might have a shot at the win. The rain won all the races at Shippensburg so we will try again next friday at Path Valley.

6/10/08 After a rough night at Path Valley and a whole day of repairing the car at Bullrider we were hoping for a good night at Shippensburg. We were happy to draw well and started on the pole in the 1st heat. Keith pulled away and easily won the heat. Again luck was on our side as we drew a 0 for the redraw which put us on the pole in the feature. Keith pulled away on every restart as the car was working perfectly. We had at least 12 restarts in a caution filled race and Keith handled each one perfectly. When the race ended Keith won his first feature in a 600. What a great night! We will be at Kutztown on wednesday.

6/1/08 We arrived at Shippensburg and were happy to see the sun shining after the rain earlier in the day. We drew a good number and started 3rd in the 2nd heat race. Keith moved forward to finish 2nd. They inverted the top 6 so that put us starting 2nd in the feature. Keith ran 2nd for about 12 laps but was just not quite good enough to pass the leader. On lap 12 we got into lap traffic and a lap car held us up a little. This enabled the 3rd place car to get a run on us and we went 3 wide on the straightaway. There was some contact and Keith was able to save it but got passed for 2nd. Keith stayed close but couldn't get a shot at the 2nd place car. Still our best finish (3rd place) for the year. We will be at Kutztown on wednesday.

5/25/08 After a good night at Path Valley we went back to Shippensburg for double features and were happy to see 32 cars in the pits. We were scheduled to start 13th in the makeup feature. Keith moved forward and had a good finish of 6th which really was lucky because when he crossed the finish the front sprocket came off. We didn't draw real well for the 2nd feature which put us starting 7th in the 1st heat race Keith moved forward to finish 4th . This put us starting 13th in the feature. Keith missed several wrecks and passed some cars to move up to 6th with 4 laps to go. Unfortunately a top injector stuck open and the car shut off under caution to end our night. We will be at Kutztown on wednesday night.

5/19/08 Well the rain won all the races this weekend. We got in the heats at Shippensburg so we will go back next week for double features. We will be at Kutztown on wednesday.

5/11/08 Greenwood Valley had a good turnout with 39 cars in the pits for the 600 class. We didn't get to draw because they draw last week and were using the same lineup even though they didn't get any heats in last week. This didn't make any sense to me but that's the way it is. We started 10th in the 1st heat and Keith moved forward to finish 4th and go right into the feature. We started 13th and on the 1st start Keith missed a shift and we fell back to 17th. He moved steadily forward on a dry burned up race track for an 11th place finish a really good run considering the burned up racing surface. We will be at Kutztown on wednesday.

5/4/08 The rain didn't fall and allowed for racing to happen on friday at Path Valley. We were a little dissapointed in the car count (22) but at least we got to race. Keith started 6th in the 1st heat and moved forward to a 3rd place finish, With the redraw we started 6th in the feature. Unfortunately the bracket which holds the radiator fan broke and fell in between the gas pedal and the stop. Keith kept pushing the fan out of the way and struggled to a 10th place.  I guess it could it have been worse it could have stuck the throttle wide open and caused a wreck. This continued to be a bad weekend because after we went to the car wash and after washing the car it wouldn't start. After looking into the problem for about 2 hours we discovered that the power commander had shorted out. I didn't have another one with us so this ended the weekend. We will be at Path Valley next friday looking for some racing luck.

We got rained out for the 2nd day in a row. $255 in diesel and no racing. Well at least we get in for free at Path Valley and Greenwood next week.

4/19-08 On a bright sunny friday Path Valley had a good field of 27 600's. We drew a good number and started on the pole of the 3rd heat. The car was a little loose and Keith got passed by one car to finish 2nd. After the redraw we started 1st in the feature. Keith led for the 1st 2 restarts. The track loosened up a little more than I expected and Keith got passed for the lead on the 5th lap. He stayed close but the car appeared a little too free and on the 7th lap he got passed for 2nd. He ran in 3rd until the 15th lap where he got passed again. We finished 4th for our best finish at Path Valley. I think if the car had been a little tighter we could have won. We will be back at Path Valley next weekend.

4/15/08 Path Valley rained out on friday so we headed up to Greenwood on Saturday and we were glad to see a nice sunny day with 38 600's in the pits. We didn't draw real well starting 10th in the 2nd heat race. Keith moved forward to 6th but this wasn't good enough to make the feature. We started 4th in the consi and with some luck ended up winning putting us starting all the way back in 22nd in the feature. By the 1/2 way mark Keith was up to 12th but got caught up in a tangle putting us back to 21st. Keith moved forward to 13th and on the last restart jumped under the 12th place car a little early so at the finish they scored us 14th. Good solid run passing a lot of cars hopefully we will start closer to the front at Path Valley on friday.

4/8/08 Path Valley rained out on friday night but they rescheduled the race for sunday during the day. On the way to the track it rained a little so I was a little nervous that we just wasted $140 worth of diesel for nothing. But when we got there the rain stopped and the track looked really nice for a daytime show. 26 cars showed up for this postponed race which was a good field for a sunday. We started 10th in the 1st heat and Keith moved forward a little to finish 7th. We started the feature in 22nd and by the 1/2 way Keith was up to 12th which I thought was really good. Unfortunately with 2 to go Keith spun out which gave us 21st place finish. One good thing is I think we figured out the handling problem and we should be ready for a good finish next week. If the weather allows we will be at Path Valley on friday and Greenwood on saturday.

3/30/08 On a cold friday night we arrived at Path Valley happy to see a decent field of cars to compete with. We drew well and started on the pole of the second heat. The second place car got us on the initial start and while we were close we never got a real shot at the lead and had to settle for 2nd in the heat. After the redraw we started 2nd in the feature and on the inital start got shuffled back to 4th. Keith ran consistantly in the top 5 for the whole race with numerous restarts. The bottom of the track wasn't working so Keith moved up top and passed the car for 3rd but the caution came out. Keith tried another pass for 3rd on the last lap but he missed the cushion and spun out. The results don't show it but we were a consistant top 5 car all night. We will try again next friday at Path Valley.

3/10/08 We went down to Hammerdown Speedway in North Carolina expecting a large turnout but were really let down by the low car count. But after driving 9 hours to get there we were ready to race. Keith started 4th in the 1st heat race and on the 1st lap made contact with the 3rd place car and was unable to continue. Not the start we had hoped for but I guess one advantage to a low car count is you have time to make repairs for the feature. We started 11th in the feature and Keith made steady progress to finish 4th. In the 2nd heat race we started 4th and Keith finished 3rd which put us starting 5th in the feature. Keith moved into 3rd on the 1st lap and ran there for a few until the car started to slow with a badly slipping clutch. We will try it again in a few weeks in Pennsylvania when the weather gets above freezing.

2/23/08 We will be picking up our new Bullrider from the lettering shop today, we will post some new pictures as soon as we can.

12/24/07 We just got our new Bullrider race car back from the powdercoaters it looks great. We will have some pictures up on the site in the next week or so.  We just sent two engines to NPS to get ready for the season. We expect to be race ready by the end of February.

10-17-07 We got our new Bullrider race car and took it to Greenwood to shake it down before this week's Linda's National. We should be ready to go for this week's big race at Linda's. Keith is really excited abuot the new car, hopefully we will have a good weekend.

9-28-07 We have sold our Hyper car and our waiting for our new Bullrider to be completed. Hopefully we will be able to race the Linda's National and the last race for the season at Hammerdown Speedway in North  Carolina.

9-17-07 We drove down to the I-30 Speedway in Lttle Rock,Ar. and boy we were impressed with the facility. 138 cars showed up for this event and this was by far the best big show we have ever attended. Keith started 2nd in the 8th of 10 heat races and he won by a whole straightaway locking us in the top 50. We started 8th in the 5th Semi and before a lap was completed Keith was in the 6th position. Keith battled with the 5th place car until the 1/2 way point of the race. Keith dove under the car and there was some contact resulting in a flat right rear tire. We tried to change the tire but we missed the restart ending the day for us. We still had a good experience and hopefully will return next year to race with the best. We will be at Path Valley for 2 days of racing at the Path Valley National this weekend.

9-2-07 We couldn't ask for nicer weather on saturday night at Greenwood with a strong field of 27 cars on hand. We started 4th in the 3rd heat and battled the whole race to end up 5th which put us starting a dissapointing 15th in the feature. Keith was flying in the feature to move all the way to 6th by the checkers. Another good run at Greenwood. We are taking next week off to get ready for the big race in Arkansas the week after.

8-27-07 We went to Greenwood and were a little dissapointed with the 19 car field on a very hot night. We started 4th in the 2nd heat and finished 3rd which was good enough to make the redraw. We drew a really good number and lined up in the 2nd position. On the original start we were shuffled back to 3rd but the 2nd place car spun on the next lap. Things stayed preety much the same until about the 15th lap when the tires really started to go away on the really slick race track. With 3 to go the car really started to go away and Keith faded to 4th. Still it was a pretty good night, we will be at Path Valley and Greenwood on Saturday next weekend.

8-19-07 We went back to Greenwood this weekend and were happy to see 26 cars there on nice cool saturday. We started 7th in the 2nd heat keith raced forward to a 3rd place finish to make the redraw. We lined up in the 4th place starting spot after the redraw and by lap 2 Keith had surged forward to 2nd place. On the 11th lap restart the leader slid up a little and Keith took the shot at the lead. Unfortunately there was contact and Keith spun putting us 20th on the restart. Keith passed 8 cars for a 12th place finish. Hopefully next weekend we will have a better finish.

8-13-07 We decided to try another track on Saturday so we went to Hill Valley but were dissapointed by the car count of 20 cars with them paying $500 to win plus heat race money. We started 3rd in the 2nd heat and were passed by Jimmy Brookens to finish 4th which put starting 11th in the feature. I didn't get the car tight enough and Keith struggled with a loose car all feature to finish 9th.We will be at the final Kutztown race of the season on wednesday and hopefully will have some better luck.

8-6-07 In our 3rd trip to Trailway we made the handicap and finally didn't have to start last in the heat race. With 40 cars in the pits qualifying would be difficult. We started and finished 2nd in the heat race which put us on the pole for the 1st time this year. Keith blasted to an early 10 car length lead which he maintained for the first 12 laps until the caution came out. On the restart he pulled out another 2 to 4 car lead until lap 15 when the car started to go away. Keith slid up out of turn 4 and Ryan Greth caught us on lap 17. On lap 18 Keith just couldn't hold the bottom out of turn 4 anymore and Ryan Greth passed us for the lead. Keith held on for a 3rd place finish our best of the year at Trailway. I think if I had the car a little tighter in the beginning we would have won. We will be at Kutztown on Wednesday.

7-30-07 Friday night at Path Valley we started 3rd in the 2nd heat and on the initial start Keith took 2nd and he trailed the leader to the finish. This put us starting 5th in the feature after the redraw. On the initial start Keith got shuffled back to 7th. Keith picked off 3 for a really good 4th place finish. On saturday we headed back to Trailway and with 37 cars in the pits looked forward to a good night of racing. We lined up 9th in the 2nd heat and on the first start Keith missed a big pileup but one of the guys behind never lifted and bent up the car pretty good. We had it repaired for the consi but Keith could only get up to 5th in 8 laps and only 2 made the feature. We will be at Kutztown on Wednesday night.

7-23-07 We have never raced at Trailway and Keith wanted to try it so with them offering $1000 to win on saturday we went. 47 cars showed with the increased purse for saturday's event. We didn't draw too well and started 10th in the 2nd heat. Keith was flying and advanced to 4th in the 8 lap heat race which put us right in the feature starting 14th. Keith moved up to 12th by the halfway when a car a few in front wrecked and we made contact which put us back to 17th on the restart. Keith restarted but the car was pretty bent and with the speeds on this 1/3 mile track he made the right choice and went to the infield for a 17th place finish. We will be at Kutztown on wednesday night.

7-17-07: Low turnout at Kutztown with only 21 600's in the pits. We started 8th in the 1st heat and moved into 5th on lap 2. Keith pressured the 4th place car for the rest of the race. On the last lap the car in 6th never lifted going into turn 3 and took us both out so we finished 9th. This put us starting 19th in the feature. Keith moved steadily forward to 5th place but on the last lap the car slid up a little and Keith over corrected and lost two spots. Still from 19th a 7th place finish is real good. We will be at Path Valley on friday .
